Groundbreaking: Lakeview Village Celebrates Major Milestones
If you were to visit Mississauga’s waterfront today, you’d see clear signs of the transformation underway at Lakeview Village. Once the site of a coal-fired power plant, this stretch of Lake Ontario is evolving into a vibrant, sustainable community. The vision for Lakeview Village is becoming a reality with the breaking ground celebration for the community’s first residential building and innovative district energy system, and City officials took a tour of the site to witness construction progress. The events marked a significant leap forward for the community – one that highlights the deep commitment to create something that will foster community, drive innovation and sustainable building, and set a new standard of living for waterfront neighbourhoods across the country. Hockey Night in Brampton 2024 raises $14M for Brampton’s second hospital
On August 21st, a star-studded lineup took to the ice at the CAA Centre for the third annual Hockey Night in Brampton. Team Mitch Marner, coached by NHL legend Doug Gilmour, faced off against Team Max Domi, coached by NHL legend Wendel Clark, in an exhilarating charity game with proceeds benefitting the William Osler Health System. This year’s event once again supports the ongoing efforts to enhance health care services in Brampton, including the building of Brampton’s second hospital. The event raised an incredible $14M for the William Osler Health System Foundation, further solidifying Hockey Night in Brampton as not just a local favourite, but the largest charity hockey game in the history of Canada!
